From December 2016 to May 2017 we set up Skymoons Edinburgh, working with the company’s Chinese parent and the incoming Edinburgh management to take a studio from nothing to a working team. Our first meeting was on 1 December 2016, two months before the studio was announced, and the first staff came on board at the start of 2017.
We provided technical expertise to Blazing Griffin for its 2016 release of The Ship: Remasted, with a particular focus on the development of a new AI system. That engagement ran from the start of November 2015 to the end of February 2016.
We’ve developed games for mobile and web platforms, including iOS and Facebook. This work combines game development with analytics to understand user engagement and an iterative approach to improving the product.
We provided project management and technical direction for Rail Simulator, the PC railway simulation developed by Kuju Entertainment, funded by Fund4Games and published and distributed by Electronic Arts.
Released in Europe in October 2007, Rail Simulator put players in charge of historic and contemporary locomotives on real railway routes. Its North American release followed in January 2008, adding the Barstow–San Bernardino route and Union Pacific trains. Players could choose between accessible driving settings and a fuller simulation of train operation.
