Insurgent Studios was formed in 2005 and is based in Edinburgh. We work as project managers and technical consultants, on projects that need management and technical judgement together rather than one without the other.

Over twenty years that work has covered video games, virtual worlds, branded content, museum installations, augmented and mixed reality, fintech, funded research and development, and the infrastructure that development teams depend on. Some of it we have delivered directly; some through studios we helped establish and run, including VEEMEE and Skymoons Edinburgh. Clients and partners have included Audi, Billabong, Wrangler, Sega and Sony, BTL Group, Ingenico, the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh College of Art, and the Scottish Enterprise-funded Intermediary Technology Institutes.

We also build our own products. Depot Desk is a cross-platform Git interface for teams working with large assets that are difficult to merge, currently in closed alpha. SoniQueue is an alternative Sonos controller for Android.
