INSCREENIT is our internal platform for developing bespoke interactive installations. It brings together interactive technology and custom hardware solutions for experiences in museums, exhibitions and retail settings.
Our museum work illustrates the kinds of interaction represented in this part of the portfolio. At the Museum of Edinburgh, the Field Marshal Earl Haig installation used the glass of a display cabinet as a touch interface for exploring digital objects. Window on the Past used a large screen and gesture control to reveal different periods in the history of the museum’s courtyard.
Those projects connected software and digital content with a physical setting. Visitors could investigate collection objects or explore a historical scene through touch and movement, with the original museum microsite documenting both approaches and the choice of languages offered by the installations.
The dedicated INSCREENIT website has been retired. This entry remains part of our portfolio, and the Museum of Edinburgh project microsite preserves photographs, digital model comparisons and demonstration films of the two installations.
